My first private Bridezilla moment...

Sorry- this is long- So my wonderful co-workers are throwing me a shower at one ot their beautiful homes. They check with me on the date and I am really honored. Then another girl at work got engaged, so they asked me if I would mind if we combined them. I said, of course not since I am honored they are even doing this.
THEN last week, another teacher got engaged and her wedding is in Dec. plenty of time to hold another shower. SO now there are three of us and people are coming up to me and complaining how EXPENSIVE it is going to be for them and how they thought the shower should just be for me and the one other person, not the one who is getting married in Dec.
OK- I agree and in all honesty, I would like my moment in the spotlight after waiting 35 years but THIS IS MY SHOWER! Why didn't you take this to the social committee! Why complain to me and make me feel guilty!

Re: My first private Bridezilla moment...

That *****! People are lame.

not bridezilla at all - I would be peeved.

I hung up on my sister the day before my shower becasue she was complaining to me about all the details.

THE PERSON BEING HONORED SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT THEIR SHOWER!!!

Hang in there.

Re: My first private Bridezilla moment...

That doefinitely does not classify as a bridezilla They should ahve never complained to you. You arent the one throwing the party and therefore have no control over it.

Chris,

As another woman who waited (And I mean WAITED ) 35 years to truly meet the right man I agree each one of us deserves our individual moment in the sun. We have 4 weddings of people this summer (not to mention the babies) but my faculty is good at giving each person their own moment in the sun.

Yes, is it expensive? Yes, but what goes around comes around.

Remember that Sex and the City Episode when Carrie loses her Manolo Blahniks at her friend's kids birthday party and she is pissed because as a single person she has shelled out at least $2K for all of the engagement, wedding, shower, etc. gifts for this friend.

Everyone has their time. As someone who has stood by and watched everyone else get married, including my own students, and thought it probably won't ever happen to me. Finally the party is for us Chris!

Don't let anyone ruin your joy!

Re: My first private Bridezilla moment...

I don't get what they are doing either. A Dec. bride should fall into the next school year. We have a breakfast in the library for brides to be and baby showers. Yes, they are combined if there is more then one coming up. Is your party as someone's house? That is really nice!
