I have a sticky situation I need advice on!
We have really really nice next door neighboors who we dont really see that often in the winter but see them alot during the summer b/c our yards are kind of connected. It is his first marriage but her second. DH is very very friendly with this guy whenever they do see eachother. And are in similar types of work and even got DH a temp. job once while he was unemployed.Well I feel sooooooo horrible but I sent them an std over the summer ( when we were seeing them everyday) and then totally forgot to send them an invitation
I feel sooooooooooooooooooo horrible about it and apologized when I saw them. The seemed ok with it and laughed it off. Anyway they are getting married next month and invited my MIL, FIL, & BIL to the wedding but not us. Ok I understand no big deal. BUT I would still like to send them a gift. They are not registered anywhere ( she does not have any family so I guess no one threw her a bridal shower) my MIL is not going but sending them a cash gift instead. I really dont want to send cash b/c then I think it looks like I am asking for a gift in a way
What can I send them??? Should I send it before the wedding or after as a 'Congratulations' ????

Do you know if they are going on a HM? What about traveler's checks to use towards a HM?

Since it is the winter I hardly ever see them. DH bumps into them outside every few days.. I can have him ask!! She also has 2 kids so im not positive they will be going away.
If they are that is a great idea! Thanx!

I am just trying to think of things that we would have liked. We got travelers checks from a guest and in the card he specifically wrote this is for your an excurision in Hawaii on our honeymoon. I thought that was sweet.

I got a gift certificate for www.bedandbreakfasts.com. They have a ton of B&Bs to choose from and we can go anytime of the year. Maybe they could use it as a little getaway when her kids are with their dad or other family.

I'd send a gift certificate to Macy's or maybe Bed Bath and Beyond.

I would send a gift certificate to BB&B (or similar store), but send it after the wedding so it doesn't seem like you are looking for an invite.

Maybe an American Express gift check? I also would send it after the wedding if you are afraid it will look like you are looking for an invite.

I think it is okay to send cash, and doesn't imply you are looking for a gift yourself. The alternative would be a gift certificate, or buy something that you think they would like from a store that they can return it to if they want (like something crystal). I think since you were not invited to the wedding, it would be better to send it as a 'congratulations' gift after they return from their honeymoon.
