Re: ceremony & cocktail hour music - what are you doing?

Our band provided the music for the cermony and cocktail hour but in my honest opinion - you don't need music for the cocktail hour. It is usually a smaller room and outside, if it is nice, and everyone is talking and mingling that you can't even hear the music.

Re: ceremony & cocktail hour music - what are you doing?

We haven't booked them yet but the DJ will be playing the ceremony and cocktail hour. Would've really loved live performers but $$ tight and FI felt we should cut that.

Re: ceremony & cocktail hour music - what are you doing?

I am a member of my church's handbell choir so I will have them play (without me of course) for the ceremony. I am hoping to have a lot of the vocal choirs as well as string indtruments there as well.

For the cocktail hour we are having a string quartet and then the DJ will play for the reception.

I have no idea what the quartet will cost since I am asking members of my church to play.

Re: ceremony & cocktail hour music - what are you doing?

My students are playing for me I have two flutists for the terrace and one playing piano in the mansion.

You should expect to pay between 100-250 dollars per musician, per hour. That's the norm. Anything more is a ripoff, unless you are paying traveling fees.

Re: ceremony & cocktail hour music - what are you doing?

Ceremony, the church is taking care of that.

CH-piano player from our band is playing. But if we were to add more pieces it would have added $500 onto the cost.

Re: ceremony & cocktail hour music - what are you doing?

or get a soloist for the Cer. and have the DJ play for the Ch

Havent decided about this yet.

Re: ceremony & cocktail hour music - what are you doing?

We are hiring Counterpoint (LI Vendor) for the ceremony. $425 for a string trio for one hour. Check them out, they sound really good.

For the CH we are having Giorgio's house pianist play for $250 for the hour. His name is Daniel and he's great (plays lots of billy joel!)
