Three Village Inn: Your view for 50-70 People

I am going to visit the three Village inn this weekend. But was wondering if you have any feedback to offer. My guests will be driving in from NJ,Queens,Brooklyn. It's in Suffolk, so is it really nice enough to warrant the long drive.

Second- Did you like the views and gardens. I'm hoping they can arrange an outdoor wedding.

Thanks, Desperatly still seeking

I also looked at the Inn but it wasn't what I was looking for. Just some thoughts: I didn't like the silk flowers they used as decorations on the light fixtures, etc. The room for the cocktail hour is just off the main entrance so you don't have privacy. I felt the function room was dark and a dated color of pinky coral. Of course, the price was right and you are having a much smaller function than I am. It seems like a great place for a shower, rehearsal dinner, etc but not for a wedding - just my opinion :-)

Just curious, how were your officiants? (You referred them to me). I'm going to start calling late next week after we get back from a much needed 5 day vacation in Orlando!

Let us know how your vendors were, too! :) Where did you honeymoon?? Questions, questions.

Driving

All depends upon your family. I drive from Flushing Queens to Stony Brook every day for work. On a good day - and b/c the 3VI is on the North Shore - your family might have to drive from 1-1.5 hrs to get there. If you're planning a wedding during rough weather months, its not an ideal choice.

I've driven farther for weddings and christenings for people that I love.

I'm with you Andrea

Although I recommend going to see it because everyones taste is different, here's my opinion.

I wanted something on the water, and although it's close, you can't really see it from the rooms. I also thought the decor was really outdated. I felt the same way about the Carriage House (I think that's what it's called) it's right across the street. They set up the ceremony in front of the place, right by the main road, so you see cars passing, I didn't like that at all. The only good thing I liked about that place was, when we went Steven Baldwin was there. I'm from LA, so I see stars all the time, but he's a cutie!!!

Brenda I think you are are talking about The Beach Club in Lake Ronkonkoma. That is where I am getting married in September. They are doing a lot of work there and it looks much nicer than when we first booked a year ago. I will say that if you are looking for something really fancy and modern this is not it. It was perfect for what we wanted which was someplace comfortable. It is right on the water and the improvements they have made have been mostly on the outside, although it is hard to tell right now. I don't think I would want to get married there in the winter, but there is a lovely gazebo for the rest of the seasons and the price is reasonable.

Kate-- it sounds like you made your day very memorable by all the work you put into it ;-)
Do you have pictures of the blue hydrangea bouquets? My FG's are going to carry them and it would be great to see a pic
