BRIDAL MELTDOWN, HELP!!!

Sorry for the long vent girls, but I am in need of serious help. Any opinions are grately apprecciated.
I can't sleep, its 6 months to my wedding and I am having second thoughts about my reception site. I really do love where i am scheduled to have it, but there are some major problems (cocktail hour area tooooo small) due to that fact that I am getting married in NOV. I called another place today that can accomodate my wedding, except, the wedding will be switched to a daytime 12:30 pm cocktail hour, rather than the 6:30 p.m. cocktail hour. Sounds easy, but that will mean I will have to reschedule church to a 9:00 am mass, I do not even know if they can do that! which then means I will have to get my hair & makeup done by 8:00am. Does anyone work that early in the am?
I am so confused! If anyone can shed some light on the issue pleasedo, and if anyone has gotten married early, please let me know how smoothly it went, b/c I really don't think it will. Sorry So Long!

Re: BRIDAL MELTDOWN, HELP!!!

Hi. First, take a deep breath. You will be okay. Many brides on this site have early weddings. If the size of the CH is really a concern, I think it will be better to check with your ceremony location first about changing the time of the ceremony before you make any changes. If they say that they are available for the morning and if you really love the 2nd reception site, then maybe you should make the change. However, check your contract first to see if your current reception venue's policy on cancellation.

Thanks! I will be calling my church ASAP, to see if the cermony can be done earlier. It's such a big thing to do so late, I think if I chill a bit it won't be soo bad.

Re: BRIDAL MELTDOWN, HELP!!!

michele, i know for me, i've had second thoughts about anything and everything involved with the wedding (with the exception of Ray of course )

i mean just the other day i was thinking of a different veil and my hair is still undecided. you have to trust yourself and your instincts and try and figure out what is just pre-wedding anxiety and what is something to actually worry about. changing your hall is a MAJOR decision and shouldn't be taken lightly.

i'm sure everything will turn out beautiful and all work out in the end...

I agree with the deep breath sentiments.

Think back to why you chose the first hall and why you wanted an evening wedding. You may not be able to have the church at 9:00 a.m.; churches tend to keep that time slot open for funerals. Instead, you may get an 11:00 church.

Re: BRIDAL MELTDOWN, HELP!!!

Thanks for all of the help. basically I am leaving this in the hands of my churh, if they can do an a.m . ceremony I will switch. I really just want to get married and not push it back, due to the fact I am unhappy with orig hall. We contacted a second reception spot yesterday that can marry us same day. I really like this spot, except my dream evening wedding may now become a daytime affair. So this is where I am now. Thanks for the help & concern!
