Do you have an Emergency Kit prepared at home?

Do you have a box set aside w/ flashlights, batteries, canned food, water, etc??

At home I don't. But at work I do (I work in Manhattan)

Funny story- at my old job after 9/11 they gave out emergency kits that had everything in it. We all laughed at it, cracked jokes etc.
Well let me tell you... when the blackout came & I was at my new job BOY did that kit come in handy!! I was the only one with a flashlight! I was the hero and was able to help out alot of people.

Yup, I have stuff for us- first aid kit, water, flashlight. Not a lot of canned goods though. I also have stuff for the cats in a separate container- food, litter, water. I have to get leashes, too.

its funny you mention this....over the weekend we noticed water coming in...right above our electical box...FH was able to dry all the water up and fix the problem right away...but I was so nervous....I packed a diaper bag with all the baby's essentials...and put it right next to the front door, along with his carseat, and my car keys....then I moved the baby into my room for the night.

On sunday and electician friend of ours came to the house to make sure everything was ok and nothing was going to start an electical fire....but I think after this an emergancy kit is a good idea.

That's a great idea, I guess I just know where the flashlight is in case of emergency, I just hope I can walk to it

we have all the stuff, just not together in one box.

I have one too.... it is pretty old.. I have to update it..
