Looking for health insurance coverage...

any suggestions on where to begin to look online?
Dh will be starting up a business and I don't have coverage through my company being that I'm only part-time right now.
started my search online but am so overwhelmed .

Do you combine make under $40,000? Then you could look at Healthy NY. Its based upon income.

Also you could look into joining and association. The group rates are usually cheaper than getting a policy on your own.

What about the freelancers union? I always see signs for it on the subway...it might be worth google-ing.

call them all. Best in NY is Health NY( offered thru all major insurance companies) Vytra, Empire BCBS( where I work), and Magnacare( usually union only though, may offer some private), and Cigna. Get quotes and compare. If you need help comparing plans...FM me, I know about them all( too much so! )

thanks for the info so far

dm24angel, right now we have magnacare and dh is union. but I'll call the ones you mentioned. I think just the search I did online, I made this harder than it really is
