Why do vendors FM me after reading my posts on BHB?

I am annoyed that vendors are reading the questions I ask brides on BHB and sending me unsolicited information.

If I wanted their help, I would post on Vendors Helping Brides. I've already blocked them, but what can we brides do to avoid getting unsolicited Forum Mail?

Notify Ron or Liz about it. I'm sure they can do something. Otherwise, I don't know.

I really hate that too!! They don't realize they make themselves LESS appealing when they send unsolicited FM.

My pet peeve is when brides ask for vendor price quotes, the vendors publicly reply saying that they FMed the info, but the only thing the FM says is that you should call or make an appt. for pricing info. If the vendors do not want to give pricing info, then they should not go on the board saying that they have FMed it to someone!!! It's just a tease to get their name out there one more time.

I've never posted on Vendors Helping Brides.

I had no idea they were so vague in their replies.

I now block these people from contacting me, but it's a pain in the a__ to see 'You have FM' when I log in to LIW and see a vendor.

I was recently contacted by a vendor who tried to get me to switch my wedding date so I could save on flowers. It pi**ed me off to no end. There were very logical reasons as to why I chose my date and savingor spending $$$ on flowers was not one of them.

What makes me CRAZY are the CALLS!

Flurafina- called MY cell phone last week to set something up. I felt bad and she caught me off guard I made the appointment. I called a week later to cancel. I said something came up, and I'D call the to reschedule.

Then today (a week later), they called me AGAIN to reschedule. When I said this weekend wasn't good they didn't take the hint and asked about next weekend.

It just makes them look desparate. LEAVE ME ALONE.

What about EMAILS- I swear everytime I check my email I have at least 5 vendors trying to sell me.

Then I come home from work and have 'JUNK MAIL' from all vendors!

Me too!! So many times I tried to get a few quotes by just posting once on the Vendor board, and all I got was 'call us'

That happened to me also! It's so annoying! One DJ on here actually called me up (after I had an appt with them) and asked about s/t I wrote. It wasn't even anything bad! Talk about a turn-off! Easy decision, though! Another DJ sent me an unsolicited FM. I FM'd LIW but I didn't hear anything back from them. Oh, well. Vendors are just doing a disservice to themselves when they do things like that so I guess just ignore it!

yeah all of a sudden to my house ive been getting tons of solicitations and my wedding is in a month im thinking hello already booked everything give it up already.
