What do you look for in a dining room set??

My FI and I have been looking at furniture and dining room sets (not that we have any place to put it yet) and I was wondering is one wood better than another...how do you know its quality furniture???

I am in the business I am a manager at ABC Carpet and home and you definitely wat to get something that is made from solid wood alot of stuff is made from MDF which is real cheap and if you get a tble that has a surface made from veneers and it gets scratched you will not be able to fix it

How do you know if it is made of solid wood?? Would the sales person tell you??

the weight will give you a good indication if the table is solid wood or not. in many cases, you can also tell by just looking and feeling. if you search online a description of the product should be availalble. if you are shopping in-store ask the salesperson for a composition/material description.

avoid pine tables as the wood is soft and damages easily.
