Re: Anyone who made or is making the picture frame card box--please help!!

Hi Corrine, I cut out the foam to fit the top,I used a knife to cut the slit, then I cut out a piece of cardboard, traced the slit hole on the cardboard and cut the slit in the cardboard, and then glued the cardboard to the foam,

Here comes the tricky part. I cut the satin to be much larger than the top. I cut the slit. Then I took 2 pieces of rectangle shaped extra fabric and sewed it to either side of the slit. I put a few stiches at the end of each rectangle to join the two ends. Then I pulled them through the slit and used double sided tape (the really strong kind) to stick it down (I stuffed batting under the satin and then taped the satin all under the cardboard). Does that make sense? This pictures should show you the sewing I did.

Re: Anyone who made or is making the picture frame card box--please help!!

For ours, FH used plywood to fit the top and bottom of the wood plant holder that we bought in AC Moore. He screwed the bottom in snug and for the top, made it a bit smaller to accommodate the material to be pulled thru the slit and around the sides.

For the slit, he used one of his saws and cut a 1/4 slot down the middle. I pulled the material taught thru the slot and around the edges.
