South Beach Diet

Anybody on this? Today is my first day.. for someone who loves carbs till its fullest, this is going to be 2 VERY LONG weeks!

And can I just add that skim milk is disgusting IMO! It tastes like milk flavored water!

Re: South Beach Diet

I tried it and lasted about 6 days. I became very forgetful and absent-minded. Your brain needs carbs to function. Plus, I don't like fish, so it was tough for me to find meals.

Good luck! It definitely works. It just wasn't for me.

Re: South Beach Diet

It worked for me. I lost 30 lbs and have kept it off for about a year now. I'm on WW now to get the last 20 lbs off. South beach is a great start, but it is very hard to maintain. So after you lose your bulk of weight, you may want to switch to WW or something else where you have more balanced meals. Good luck!

Re: South Beach Diet

I had a VERY hard time with phase 1- headaches, bellyache, etc. plus crabby!! I have been doing a modified phase 2-3 for awhile and it seems to be working.

also if you work out you need carbs...

good luck

Re: South Beach Diet

i had a tough time with phase one too - but it got easier after about 5 days... the headaches and hunger pangs just kind of went away one day. my problem was that when i switched to phase two, i stopped losing weight - i didn't gain any back, i just didn't lose anymore. it was very strange. but most people i know have had excellent results with south beach. keep up the good work!

Yeah I followed it completely but had problems working out without eating any carbs during phase 1. I did it for about 6 weeks with zero results. I know it works for most people but it just wasnt for me. I like the principles an dstill incorporate the low carb lifestyle but I can work out more now. Good Luck!
