When you are looking for vendors

does where they are located factor in to your decision making?

In other words, if a vendor is coming from far do you take this into account before booking them?

All the vendors I am considering using are all from far and I am nervous about this!!!

Re: When you are looking for vendors

yes, I did. For instance we live in Smithtown and when we went to Pedestals, we felt it was too far. Not just for the day of, but also to drop off money, and stuff

Well when we were going to see vendors we didn't want to travel that far..actually ironically our 3 major vendors (besides the Swan Club) are all located in Mineola where I live...we didn't plan it that way but I definetely like it especially flowers and photoo/video

Re: When you are looking for vendors

I don't think you will have a problem. If it's a reputable vendor they have probably traveled before.

Re: When you are looking for vendors

it def. would sit in my mind. so far, i'm using those within a ten mile radius of me i think. but i did go see those out in suffolk, etc.

i think that without LIWeddings, I would have stuck primarily to nassau county places...

Re: When you are looking for vendors

I took it into consideration with my DJ. I also liked Body Rock but they were in Carle Place which is far for me, I'd hate for something to happen on their way in on the day of. Whereas LI Sound is only in Holbrook, and they're actually moving much, much closer! So location is what made the deciding factor!!!

Same here. I live in Huntington - so booking with Duet and Flower Michele was convenient....not so much now, but as the date comes closer, it won't be a hassle for me to drop in to discuss and/or look at something.

Or maybe I'm just too lazy to look at someone farther away...

Re: When you are looking for vendors

It did/does for me. I live in Ozone Park and work in Plainview M-F and Oceanside Sat. I do WAY too much driving as it is. I went to vendors that were not TOO far out of my normal driving area. I was refered to vendors further out east, but it's too difficult for me, especially since I work until 5:30pm M-F, so getting out that way during the week puts a huge damper on the day.

Re: When you are looking for vendors

I do... I dont want to travel far for every vendor since i am already an out of stater, it makes my life easier if it is on my way to LI or close to smithtown where my parents are

Re: When you are looking for vendors

Location played no factor in making our decisions. You only have to go there a few times, and if you really like someone, go for it.
