After the wedding....was anything missing?

We are no longer in possesion of our:

pew bows
pew clips
program basket

Does the church just keep these things?

Re: After the wedding....was anything missing?

No...that doesn't sound right to me! I mean sure, things can get lost, but church shouldn't keep it.

Actually, our church made sure we got our unity candles and candle holders back. Then the candle holders got lost for awhile after that - but that's a whole other story.

Re: After the wedding....was anything missing?

Do you think I should call and inquire or just forfeit the stuff?

The only reason why I wanted it back was because I was thinking of giving it away to a new bride on LIW!

Re: After the wedding....was anything missing?

Do you really think the church has it or that maybe it just got lost in the shuffle of the day?
Who did the pew bows - your florist? You should probably also call them.

Either way I don't see any harm in calling the church to ask.

Re: After the wedding....was anything missing?

I have no idea what happend to my prgram basket. I thought my cousin had them, but he just had the bubble baskets ( he is only 12- he was just in charge of bubbles) COem to think if it, I am not sure wher those are either. My mom must have them, but they weren't inthe pile of baskets , like the bathroom basket was! ( which I took back!)

I did like the program basket though & would have liked to use it in my home, but it wasn't worth tracking it down.

The pew bows were supplied by the florist , I suppose the curch just took them down & threw them out.

Re: After the wedding....was anything missing?

Our Kiddish cup was lost at Flowerfield. At the end of the wedding, the Flowerfield bridal attendant gave us a bag with our stuff in it, but the Kiddush cup wasn't there - we only received the empty box that the cup had come in. I was pretty bummed about the fact that it was lost since it was an engagement gift from my great uncle and we had used it during our ceremony

Re: After the wedding....was anything missing?

We did not lose anything, however if you did not appoint someone to pick up the stuff after the church they might still have it. I actually appointed my MOH's mother to pick up the pew bows, unity candle, program baskets after the ceremony (thanks to ideas from this site). So check with your church if you did not.

However i am still missing 10 wedding cards from my reception.....

Re: After the wedding....was anything missing?

flowergirl basket.

11 'extra' favors (I think the hall put them out on the vendors table)

left over petal cones (I KNOW my greedy IL's swiped those)

2 extra centerpieces were supposed to go to our mom's but DH's cousin and his other cousin's fiance took them

Also my hall stole my heart shaped candles I bought for the CH

Nothing went missing at the church. I think my DOC handled that.

The only thing I lost was my sixpence that I had in my shoe I took off my shoes and forget that I had tucked it into the side of my shoe (where the side meets then sole.) I didn't think to call for it

I never even thought abut this (some 10 months later ), but I have no idea what happened to ANYTHING that was at the church

I did get back the basket I had the bubbles in, but that was because I asked one of DH's brother's to make sure he took it out of the church for me ...

Re: After the wedding....was anything missing?

We lost some favors. We totally left the box at the hall and when we went back to talk to them when we came from from our HM they did not have them. Oh well. That is all we lost.

I wonder if someone at your wedding thought it was a wedding favor that just had your name on it the way other wedding favors do. Maybe someone didn't realize that it was actually for you and your husband.
