My students and I should be on channel 12 news tonight

or tomorrow..

The kids raised $ for ALS Lou Gehrig's disease
research and we handed over the check today in front of our school and all the kids were out there chanting, the teachers and the members of the organization affected with the disease were crying. It was so touching!

Ride for Life 2005 Update
Wednesday, May 18 (Day 6)

Today the Riders are at the half way point to Montauk and they start the day with a send off with our good friends at Dowling College in Oakdale, Long Island.

The Riders will be escorted by the students at Sayville High School and will be making stops at Prince of Peace School and Sunrise Drive Elementary School. Another escort will be provided by the students at Kreamer Street School and the day will end at Bellport Middle School.

The Riders will be treated to a wonderful pot-luck dinner at the Saxton Middle School.

The weather has been great so far and looks like it will stay that way. Today it will be partly cloudy with highs in the mid-60's.

congrats to you! my fh and I are both teachers and we are all about getting in the paper/on the news! They need to showcase all the great things teachers and students do!

congrats- that is really awesome!!

i do the aids walk every year (this year i raised $2155!!!!)and i think these types of events are great because they raise $$ and awareness.

Congrats! That is so sweet and such a positive experience for your students.

As a fellow teacher all I can say is that it would be nice for them to run this story considering they spent so much airtime the last two days talking about how we make too much money
