weird family situation
this is the most bizarre thing, i'm not sure how to feel about it. here goes, my dad's cousin was married when my dad was younger, they got divorced and he remarried. the women he married has a son. so now the son is getting married, i think in june or july. so the bride and groom, invited my dad's sister (my aunt & uncle) and their kids (my cousins) and not my mom and dad and the 3 of us. keep in mind, we are all related to them the same way. so we are not invited, i really don't care b/c its one less couple to invite to my wedding/shower. but here is the kicker, the son has 1 niece and 2 nephews, all siblings. so they invite the niece and NOT the nephew?? huh?? that would be like inviting my one bil and not the other. i find it all very odd, and i'm sure i'm not the only one.thoughts?

Re: weird family situation
Things like this happen sometimes. As I sit putting together my guest list, I am diligent in making sure that all people in corresponding generations are invited. ALL first cousins, no matter how close we are or not are invited. I KNOW a few won't come due to illness but it would be a slap in the face to my father and his sisters NOT to invite them. Sometimes these things are simply oversights.

i understand that, but i really find it bizarre to invite one side and not the other. not even my mom and dad. that kind of upset my mom. yes, it could've been an oversight, but i find that hard to believe
