New Survey: Average price of a wedding

I just saw this on the news:

A new survey found that the average price for a wedding has increased to $30k. That is a 73% increase in the past 15 years. Average price for an engagement ring is $4146. Photography costs have risen 103% since 1999, the average price now is over $2500.

Remember these are nation-wide averages. But still interesting.

I wish we could get an avg for NY. I can't stand those pricing guidelines, NONE of them apply to us!

i agree- just reception will be a bit over 30,000

I'm trying to keep mine under $5,000. We are renting a church hall for the reception and we are having friends do the video, photography, cooking, and DJing. its good to know college students. Their cheap labor and they love the work they do!
