Wedding Dress Shopping

I got my dress this weekend!!! I was up in NY doing wedding planning and got so much done!

Here is my dress shopping experience in case it helps anyone:

Store 1 - Bridal Suite in Bay Shore
-I went there at 2 on a Friday and the store was empty. The girl helping me (Jennifer) was very helpful and picked out several dresses in my style. They didn't have a wide selection of veils or head pieces though, so it was hard to see a complete look. Dresses are in clear bags and you pick out the ones you want to try on.

Store 2- Macys in Manhasset
-I had an 11:15 appointment on a Sunday morning. The store opens at 11 and was quickly crowded. Dresses are in clear bags and you pick what you want to try on. There were at least 3 other brides and their families/wedding parties there trying on dresses which got kinda annoying waiting for a mirror. Fay was helping me and she is a seamstress/pattern maker so she knows her stuff. She definitely pulled some great dresses. I found the prices kinda high and I didn't like that the prices are 'negociable'

Store 3- Bridal Reflections in Carle Place
-This is where I got my dress and couldn't be happier with it. I was there at 3 on Sunday afternoon and it didn't seem crowded. You tell the women what your style is and they bring you dresses, all of their dresses are kept behind mirrored closet doors. Dana helped me and she was awesome. She listened to exactly what I wanted, liked, and knew what looked best on me. She didn't rush me with any of the dresses, she stayed within my specified price range, and was very patient. Also lots of choices/styles of veils and headpieces.

I don't want to post pics because FH sometimes scans the boards and I'm paranoid about him seeing it.

Its a Paloma Blanca, strapless, with beading around the top and around the waist. Its kinda ballgown like and has a a medium size train.

Congrats! I got my dress at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place as well. I felt very comfortable there and I am glad you did too!

Congrats, I am going to the Bridal Reflections in Massapequa on saturday. I hope they have a nice variety and are as helpful as the carle place store sounds.

They have Maggie Sotero dresses in Massepequa (not at the Carle Place store). I called the Massepequa store and they were very nice on the phone, even trying to accomdate my last minute appointment request. I'm sure you'll have good luck!!
