What are you tipping your limo drivers?
I'm a little uncertain on this one. I was thinking $50 EACH driver (I'll have two). Is this sufficient or does it seem cheap? If you could tell me how much your tipping your limo driver(s), I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

we're obligated to tip them 20% per the contract, that's what they're getting.

Re: What are you tipping your limo drivers?
We have one limo driver and the tip is included in the contract for the drop offs - however, we are getting a town car to bring us to the hotel - total of maybe 3-4 miles - and have been suggested to give $40-50. I think it's a bit rediculous, but what can you do, right?

Re: What are you tipping your limo drivers?
20% gratuity is included in our contract. If they don't screw up majorly, we'll give them $50 each on top of that.

that's nuts...$20 would do it for that trip.

I agree, I wouldn't give them any more than in the contract. It's crazy to give them a tip on top of a tip.

I also agree....a twenty percent tip for 3 hours is definitely enough. Unless they do something above and beyond driving a total of 10 miles then forget it.

Re: What are you tipping your limo drivers?
When they say gratuity is included the driver actually does not get a tip. That is his regular pay not a tip. It's all a big scam. The catering halls do this as well.I plan on tipping $50 per driver also.

Re: What are you tipping your limo drivers?
My father works for a limo company. Usually the Gratuity is included with the contract and its a part of their salary. If they do a good job, usually people throw in a couple extra dollars. Thats what I am going to do.

Re: What are you tipping your limo drivers?
My FH is a part time limo driver. He is doing it to help pay for our wedding. That 20% you see is his pay. A waiter gets paid by the hour but do you not tip them? A good Chauffer will not only drive you, but lay down your runner, help your wedding party down the aisle, fix the flowers so your pictures look great and make sure everything at the church is perfect. If they do not do that then you went with the wrong company. Remeber these guys are out there to earn money just like the photographer and maitre'd. Do you not tip them? Do you think that the 18% service charge you give the catering hall goes to the service staff?$50. 00 is the standard tip he gets

While I would feel badly that the driver doesn't get it, although I'm not sure that is the deal in all cases, it's still not my problem. Then you are actually paying 20% more for the services than you should.

Re: What are you tipping your limo drivers?
My family used to own a limousine company for 10 yrs and I asked my father what is a really great tip to give a drive and he said $20 each-because they also get the gratuity on the ride so they will be getting 20% grat and if you throw them an extra $20 my father said that is more than generousAlso he said his drivers ALWAYS got the full gratuity-he said there are companies that chip the driver out of that which is just WRONG!! He used to drive part time for over 20 yrs before he bought his own company after retiring from the military. Our drivers always used to say that my father was very fair but I guess not all companies are which is awful

My FH is a limo driver on the side, and he doesn't get that full tip. It is a scam to get more money out of you. Don't be cheap. You are spending all of this money, Just tip the drivers.

The company told us the 20% gratuity is included. I think it is quite rude to be told not to be cheap. How are you supposed to know they do not receive the full tip?? It's also a three hour limo making a total of two stops.

Re: What are you tipping your limo drivers?
$20.00? That is cheap. My FH is actually leaving the house tonight at 1 in the morning to pick up a bride and groom. Is that fair for 20 bucks, I don't think so!

My church does not allow the limo drivers to do any of that you listed because they have run into so many problems. They actually have to sign a release saying they will not really even me in the church
