All I know is...when I see something that I registered for on someone else's registry, I automically buy it for them

but, I guess if they had A LOT of the same bedding, china, crystal- stuff that is 'displayed' it would be a little weird.

So far I have a family member who registered for the same pots and pans because he liked mine (he helped cook at my house with them) and my pot rack because it is really cool.

I notice in DH's family basically every single person registers for the same 'main' items ( the same waterford crystal stuff, same picture frames, vaccum, toaster oven, kitchenaid mixer etc. Even alot of the same china pattern!
Its like seeing the same registry over and over but with different bedding/towel colors and bathroom set
