HELP!!! Ceremony and reception at same site????

I'm getting married at the Westbury Manor in July. For simplicity sake I decided to have my ceremony and reception at the same location. I live in Staten Island so I will be checking in to a local hotel the day of the wedding. I just wanted a limo to drive us from the hotel to the reception hall, 10 minutes away!
I do not need to travel anywhere after the ceremony, all pics will be taken on the Westbury Manor property.

The problem is, every limo company I've contacted wants to charge me crazy amounts of money for a 10minute limo ride!!!! Help!!! Any suggestions?

Re: HELP!!! Ceremony and reception at same site????

Im in the same exact situation as you. I would just take any car because I really dont care who sees me, but... my dress is a ballgown and I dont think Ill fit in a regular car LOL!!!

If you find anything let me know, but until then Im going to ask my FMIL if I can borrow her white escalade.

Re: HELP!!! Ceremony and reception at same site????

My dress is a gigantic ballgown also, I can't imagine sqeezing into my tiny Corolla!

But honestly, at this point I would rather do that than to pay these crooked vendors one penny of my money! If for no other reason, than principle alone!
The minute you say the word 'WEDDING' the price skyrockets 3-4fold!!!

I tried calling some places and getting quotes for just a regular 'dropoff' rather than a 'Wedding transfers'
The price difference is nausiating, and the rational is mind boggling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does your hall have a bridal suite, maybe you can get dressed at your hall? I'm considering that?

Re: HELP!!! Ceremony and reception at same site????

I used Mark of Elegance Limo Company and they did pick-up and drop-off service.

I know M&V Limo does as well. I've never used them though.

Mark of Elegance did a great job for my wedding. They first picked up the men and brought them to the hall, then the same limo doubled back to get me and my girls. It worked out great!

Re: HELP!!! Ceremony and reception at same site????

We are doing the same thing. My sister and brother-in-law are driving me, FHs sister is driving him. One of the two of them will drive us back to the hotel (they are staying there also).

Re: HELP!!! Ceremony and reception at same site????

We got married at the hall as well.
What I did was stay at a nearby hotel the night before the wedding with my bridesmaids. The morning of the wedding, the hair and makeup people came to the hotel (really early) and made us pretty .
Then, we took our dresses and drove to the Watermill (the hall). SInce the bridesmaids had dirven to the hotel and would be driving home after the wedding, they drove thier cars to the hall.
Then we got ready in the bridal suite together.
After the wedding, we paid $200 to have a limo take my husband and i from the Watermill to the hotel (the same one I stayed a the night before).
I won't recommend the limo company though becasue I was not happy with them. If you would like to know their name, and avoid them, I'd be more than happy to FM you.

Re: HELP!!! Ceremony and reception at same site????

we had the same situation cause we changed our hall 10 days before the wedding

we cancelled the rest of the limos all but one and that one limo was expensive but with the policy (sense it wasn't like a month in advance) we wasn't responsible for the rest of the 1k we owned. see if you can reduce the limo count...

with the dress fitting in the car...like you said, you won't be in it long. DW dress fit into the front seat of a Rav4 for 5 min ride to the beach so we could take our formals. looked funny, but it did the job

Re: HELP!!! Ceremony and reception at same site????

If you do decide to pay for a limo, let the company earn it's $$$$. After you are dropped off at the site, is there anyone else that can be picked up? BMs? FH? Mom and Dad?

Re: HELP!!! Ceremony and reception at same site????

Do you mean pick up and drop off before and after reception, if not Sir Oliver is not a bargain! Dynasty gave quote for $150 and classic gave quote for $100.
