I made a Yankee cake - come see!
Ok girls, after several hours on this project I think it is a bust. I bought the rolled fondant and tried to make a Yankee cake for the rehersal dinner. What a mess! The color didn't come out right and my hands are stained blue! Here's a pic. I got frustrated so I just put a paper yankee logo on the top to see how it would look. Who knows what it tastes like! I think I will be ordering one for the RD!
Oh well, I tried!

Re: I made a Yankee cake - come see!
u did better than I would have. My sister said that fondant stuff is horrible to work with! Did u ever see those wedding cakes/or cakes in general that are made out of cupcakes? You could of done one of those and made all the cupcakes look like baseballs and then put some Yankee pennant or something on top...made it easier on your self!!! You are a better woman then me!! i applaud your efforts!!! Good job

LOL. Thats real cute and funny too!!
However, it does look nice (if it were not a paper logo) What if you bought white fondant, trace the logo of the white paper, and then cut it out with a knife?!?! I dunno. I dont even know what rolled up fondant looks like. hehe.

Re: I made a Yankee cake - come see!
I feel your pain....fondant is a bit annoying to work with but it does look very pretty when you get the nack of it. As far as mixing colors....you should wear latex gloves or put the fondant in a big ziplock back with the food coloring and kneed it through the bag. All in all it doesn't look too bad!!!!!!!! Don't give up!
