I heard a rumor, and I'm wondering if it's JUST a rumor, or if it holds some truth.
Maybe you ladies know?!
A friend of mine is looking for a place to hold her wedding. Her cousin just booked Flowerfield for February of 2007 for $55++ a plate ( ) because apparently Feb 07 is the last month they're doing weddings.
Does anyone know if there's any truth behind this? Is Flowerfield shutting down in a couple years?

There are always rumors about Flowerfield closing...they have never been true in the past. I have not heard anything, and doubt that they would ever charge $55.

I have not heard that they are shutting down, but I highly doubt that they ar eonly chargin $55 pp when they starting price for a Sat. night is a $180pp + tax + gratuity.

It is not shutting down and I think the $55 per plate even for Feb is a mistake. Maybe $155 per plate but not $55.

HI I am getting married at FF 10/06 and they did not mention anything about closing down and the prieces are more like $155+ pp

Prices for winter weddings tend to be less per plate (which is why I am having a winter wedding) but with those numbers there seems to be quite a differential. I would check up on that.

I haven't heard that they are closing, but I do know that the property over there has recently been purchased....maybe this has something to do with it??? I have nothing concrete in terms of information though, sorry!

The property sold has nothing to do with Flowerfield. The building next to Flowerfield was sold to StonyBrook University. Which in no way will affect Flowerfield.

I quickly glanced "flowerfields is closing" and nearly PASSED OUT! haha I'm getting married 9/06 and I didn't hear anything about them closing? and i highly doubt their prices dropped to 55 a plate...they might be a little lower in Feb for the winter season maybe at 155 but def not at 55

I am getting married there this december- it's $140 plus tax and tip- w/o anything added- I could never see it going that low
