Question about a wedding gift- if someone gave me an amount in US dollars, but they live in Europe...
DH's cousin gave us $200 US American Dollars as a wedding gift. He lives in Italy and did NOT attend the wedding. We are probably going to fly to Italy and go to his wedding.
We want to give the same amount.
But, if we exchange US into Euros, it will only be about 150 Euros.
Will he think we are giving him less than he gave us?

IMO, I would give the same amount (the equivalent of $200), even though you will be there for his wedding. The $ is so weak compared to the Euro

Considering you are travelling to his wedding, I would give what you can afford!! It isn't cheap to go to a wedding out of state much less to a different continent.

I don't think he will think you are being cheap at all! Europeans understand that the Euro is simply a stonger currency than the dollar - so he would most likely consider it a completely equal gift!

I agree. Not to mention you are spending the money to travel to go to their wedding.
