Silly shower gift question

FH and I live together and are in desperate need of many things that we received at the Shower yesterday. I know traditionally, shower gifts aren't to be used until after the wedding, but my question is:

'Would it be 'inappropriate' to use the shower gifts before the wedding?'

I am dying to know! Thanks!

we used all our stuff right away. I think that 'rule' was made when couples generally didn't live together first. But I don't know for sure. Either way, we needed the stuff, so we used it.

All I know is my family said it's bad luck to use them before the wedding. That's enough to make me not use them! Do what's best for you, though.

I've never heard of this as well. I think this is outdated when most couples didn't live together.

Use 'em honey!!! That's what you got them for. The gifts are intended to help you both begin your lives together whether you are married yet or not.

I have heard not to use wedding gifts until after the wedding but not shower.. Heck my shower was yesterday and the stuff is already unpacked and in my closets
