Suffolk County Recetion Sites
Does anyone have any suggestions for a reception location in Suffolk county. I'm having about 150-175 guests?

I'm booked at East Wind in Wading River, the place is beautiful. I know it probably a little late now, but they are having a showcase tonight. It's $10 to get in, but I think you have to call first for reservations. Check out their website.....eastwindcaterers.com. Click on upcoming events for info on the showcase.

Our original goal was to be married in October 2006. Does this seem like a realistic goal still or do you think all the the halls wil be booked?

I think you have a good shot at booking a reception hall as long as you move very quickly. I would suggest giving the Harbor Club in Huntington a call.

Middle to Eastern Suffolk would be best but we can be flexible.

Re: Suffolk County Recetion Sites
No that is a realistic goal, you may not get the date you want at the place you want if someone already booked that date but if you are flexible to the date it is totally doable! People have planned weddings in less than that. There are tons of halls in Suffolk though--there is a website but it has completely left my mind that has alot of wedding halls on LI--it is also a magazine called LIreception sites or soemthing like that.
Also do you want 1 wedding at a time or it doesn't matter.
Just a thought but I wanted to get married in Oct too & found it to be cheaper to get married a week later in November--just something to keep in mind!!

Check out the Lessings website as well. They have Coindre Hall, the Vanderbilt museum, and a ton of other locations. This is a great website for reception locations. Hope it may help...Wedding Facilities and Services

Showcases
I was just scrolling through the showcase listings and I saw that Pine Hollow Caterers in Medford is having a showcase on July 21- Excellent geography for most of my guest list. What do we know about them?

Re: Suffolk County Recetion Sites
I don't know anything about them....but, I think you totally have time to get it together for Oct. 2006...my sister got engaged in Nov. 04...and her wedding is this August.....not a problem...
Couple of questions....is money a factor in planning? Are you getting married on the premises, or in a church/temple? Do you want an evening or day? you should check out a website, http://www.weddingsitesandservices.com/
Go to the drop box for Select a Reception Site by Region and pick NY-Suffolk, it'll at least help you start to eliminate places, and get an idea for the ones you want more info on...
good luck, happy planning!!!!!!!!!

I got engaged on 12/26/2004 and got married on 10/4/2003, nine months later. I have also seen brides on here that have done it in a much shorter span of time than that.
If you really want that, you can shop around and find a place. Flowerfield had many dates available when I went there. Just ask them when you call to make the appointment if they have openings when you want to have the wedding and take it from there.
Congratulations on your engagement and Good Luck
