Make-up Trial & Engagement Pics(W/make-up Pics now)

Yesterday I had a make-up trial with Jackie from I Make-Up you and then we went for our engagement pics with Artisan.

Chuck was so awesome. We felt so comfortable with him. I cannot wait to see our proofs.

I'll post pics tonight of the make-up trial!

I'm unsure how I feel b/c I never wear a lot of make-up & to me it felt a bit unnatural, but I know it has to be "dramatic" for pics & such. I think the lip color I would change and I'll be wearing fake eyelashes for my wedding (but didn't want them for our epics).

Jackie was great & talked the entire time & did a great job. I'm just a bit unsure b/c after it was over she handed me the rates & b/c where I'll be getting ready is Eastern LI, there is a 4 girl minimum (which I won't have).

I just booked Jill Harth for my engagement shoot...I wish July was here already, I can't wait to take these photos!

well if you realy like her maybe you can talk with her about it buy you do sound a bit unshure about her, waite till you see hoe the pics came out.

If you felt unnatural, what was it exactly that made you feel this way?? Did your makeup feel too heavy?? Everyone keeps telling me it is a great idea to take pictures after you have a trial bc it might seem to be a bit much to you but then when you look at the pictures, it might not be enough! I can't wait to see your pics!

I would talk to her about the min...Maybe there is something she could work out for you!

We did our pics at the gardens at CW Post. It will be about 10-12 days b4 we have pics, but I am going to post the make-up trial pics soon.

Let me preface this by saying I really DON'T want to do this. I took these pics (obviously) by myself & seem to have this scowl face on & it is very close.....SCARY.

Don't mind my double chin!

HONEST comments please on make-up.

I think its too much blush & the 2nd pic was later in the night w/ my lipstick sort of worn off.

I'm not sure what I think....

I think the makeup looks very pretty and it doesn't look like too much to me. You look great!

Hey Cindy-

let me first say that in the pics I've seen, you always look beautiful. Now, I am taking you up on your plea for MY honest opinion when I say that I think you are right- blush may be a touch too much and even a little too matte. I don't know, but as a bride, I want a little shimmer. Also, the color of the eye makeup- while it looks nice now, dark colors tend to fade badly (at least on ME, and I am pretty fair like you), and this MAY make you look tired before your affair is over.

Of course, this it totally my opinion and not meant to upset you in ANY way! I think your gorgeous- without that makeup- and you DO have a beautiful smile.

Maybe when you post the other pics the m/up will look different (it's hard to take pics of yourself!)

anyway, that's what I think.

eta: the second pic does like a lot better- but I think it's also your facial position- looks kind of sex-kittenish!

Oh Cindy you look gorgeous!!!! I love it !!! Especially that lipstick!! what color is that??

Talk to her about teh price maybe she will negotiate - how many girls do you have in your party? do you think any of them or your mother/FMIL will want their makeup done?

My mom wants hers done and my sister/MOH is getting hers as well and my FSIL wants hers too - it doesnt hurt to ask around and let them decide!

But you look so beautiful I think the colors photograph beautifully!!!! Did you have airbrush?

Jamey the lipstick color is: Devotion & the lipliner is Mauve.

I have 5 girls in my bp, but all but my MOH will be getting ready MOST likely elsewhere (& not all the way out at my parents' house). MY MOH & mom will be getting their make-up done.

I do have another trial the day of our e-party in July, so I'll see how that one goes.

Jessica, I TRULY appreciate your honesty & comments. I think you hit it on the head, something felt "missing" or something. I'd like a shimmery blush. YEAAA!

The eyes she did first a bit lighter but then said for a night wedding you probably want to be a bit more dramatic. I told her to try it darker. She suggested the plum color or else a shimmery gray.

It was airbrush & the "foundation" was SOOO light. I loved that!
