E-ring pet peeve

Is it me or do you find when people ask to see your ring they touch the center stone? Some people put their whole damn finger on top of the stone. What the heck is wrong w/ them?????????????????????

When FH holds my hand he 'plays' with it and touches, it drives me NUTS! I make him hold the other hand

Yessssssss...every time someone looks at my ring they grab my hand (tightly I may add) and always touch my stone.

I hate it!!!!!! I thought I was the only one that experienced this.

Me too, I've never had any of those things happen to me. I'd probably go crazy, if it did happen.

FH can do whatever he wants with it...he bought it for me.

Only certain people can try it on:
Mom
MOH
one of my aunts

Only people who can stare at it, ask particular questions or hold it without me getting annoyed:

Mom
MOH

1. I hate when people STARE at my ring.
(one of my coworkers has absolutely no tact...she is constantly staring but is yet to compliment my ring)
2. I hate when people ask how much it cost....I would volunteer the carat size a million times before I would EVER tell anyone the price of my ring

you girls are funny..i actually don't mind if my friends want to try it on.. no biggie.. but i get scared when total strangers stare at it (on the subway.. so now I flip it) or compliment it.. it's freaky, i feel like they're gonna remember me and stalk me home hahaha.. i have a crazy imagination sometimes..

I dont mind either.. today I visited my sister at her office and everyone touched it.. and two tried it on.. It really doesn't bother me, I'm flattered And ofcourse when I got home, I cleaned 'her' up real good

I don't mind touching it, I never really noticed, but I always clench my fist when I show it to people. For our 2 yar anniversary, FH bought me a small diamond promise ring and my FMIL RIPPED it off my finger to try it on. And then she bought herself a similar ring. I hate her, BTW. But anyway, I'm so aterrified since then. No one should wear this ring but me. that's just the way it is

You wanna laugh? The story goes that when my parents got engaged, my father's mother was upset that my mom's ring was bigger than hers that she made my grandfather go out and get her an even bigger one.

And my FFIL didnt believe in engagement rings so my FMIL bought her own and then had the nerve to tell FH that he shouldn't spend the money on mine and that we should use it for a down payment on a house. Nice right?

I couldn't agree with the fact that people shouldn't touch it, as if we are all not worried enough about our e-rings people touching them is just alittle much sometimes. I mean I may be crazy but whenever I even hit my hand against someting I have to check it and make sure my e-ring is ok.

I don't really mind people touching my ring...the only person who has asked to try it on was one of my coworkers...b/c her e-ring is almost identical to mine and she said mine was shinier...it didn't fit her and she gave it back....she has asked a couple of times since then to try it on....it really doesn't bother me.

Doesn't bother me at all. I have one friend that everytime she sees me, she wants to wear it. I let her. We would go out after work at the bar and she would want to wear it...silly girl, how was she ever going to get a guy wearing my ring??

SIL

If you are family & friends, I don't mind it at all! If you are a complete stranger, not sure if I would be comfortable!

touching it or looking at it doesnt bother me at all - but nobody tries it on unless their family/trustworthy - i'm just paranoid b/c in the past i have had people try on my jewelry and get it stuck (i have very little fingers and people arent careful - one kid wanted to try on a ring i had so bad she forced it over her significantly larger knuckle and it didn't come off until over an hour later with her hand lathered in baby lotion) so i'm sensitive about my e-ring.

I also always check it if i hit my hand b/c i'm not good at keeping things nice and have already scratched it up But it still gorgeous and i love it!!
