AHHHH VOTIVE PLACECARDS!!!! Please help! UDATED...I'm DONE!
ok, why am I doing these? They aren't even serving as real placecards. Anyway, many thanks to mellissaandsean for her help with the cardboard cutout idea. It worked great! my lastest issue is getting the vellum to stink...I'm using doubles sided tapebut i got up this mring and hte all fell apart. Am i supposed to put the tape on the galss and the endge of the vellum over it? or put the tape inbtween the vellum and make sure it is long enough that it overlaps? AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm not but since I alreayd have the materials I decided the just put our name dayt and monorgram on them rather than have them as placecards. They will be on the tables and lit when people walk in.

I'm glad to hear the cardboard worked for you.I tried the double sided tape and it just didn't work for me.
At first I used hot glue, but then when I put the candle inside, the glass got a little hot and the glue melted
Ohhhhh, that was fun (one week before the wedding!)!! hahaha So I was left with all these completed votives with hot glue already on them, so I took a piece of scotch tape and went right over the seam with it. It worked nicely.

I used the permanent double sided, the red Scotch tape brand, and it worked fine... I did a trial to test them and see if I liked them before I went a bought all of the stuff!!!! I put a piece of tape on each end, and it has held for three months now!!

What kind of double sided tape are you using? Scotch double sided tape will hold a hem up! So they do the trick on vellum very well. But if you use a different variety, it may not hold as well.

This is what I used and I had no problems. One side right on the glass and the two sides of the vellum meet on the other sticky side.

Re: AHHHH VOTIVE PLACECARDS!!!! Please help!
Thanks everyone! I bought Scotch brand but I bought removeable instead of perment becuase I figured I'm likely to make a mistake I want to be able to fix it! Maybe that is the problem. I actually cheated a little and also used a littl crazy glue. Do you think that will be ok? Also, do yours overlap a little bit ordo they come together perfectly? That is tough. I did one where the vellum ends overlap and teh tape is in the middle and I feel like it looks cleaner because you can't see the tape at all. Did anyone do it that way? Thanks so much ladies for all of your help!! I really appreciate it!
