HELP!-Changing your E-Ring Setting...Is this horrible??UPDATE ON 2nd PAGE!

Okay, so we got engaged in February...We had been talking about getting engaged for a long time, and I showed him sorta what I wanted...I know I wanted a 3 stone, princess cut. So he got me a 3stone princess cut, and I loved it. I DID want something more antiquey looking, but the band is very plain.

So we go to Tri County today for the first time and we were just skimming through wedding bands and I found my perfect E-ring. It has a very antiquey look (similiar to ShortyMcBride's, lol), 3 stone, princess cut. My FH was like, I should have gotten you that one! I really like it, the price really isnt bad and I can use my stones for this ring. I tried to find wedding bands to sorta match my ring now, but nothing matches! The ones I do like, do not match my E ring at all....
So the thing is, is it reallyy bad to switch my setting? HELP!!

Re: HELP!-Changing your E-Ring Setting...Is this horrible??

I feel bad though...cuz HE picked out my ring u know? And he gave it to me....
Maybe I can get him to surprise me and ask me to marry him again! LOL Im so corny..I guess the sentimental part is whats making me wary :)

Re: HELP!-Changing your E-Ring Setting...Is this horrible??

No I don't think its bad at all. I know exactly how you feel b/c I am no longer crazy about my setting and would like to change it eventually.
I know its the sentimental part that is hard. Why not keep the setting and put your birthstone in it and where it on your other hand????

Go for it b/c the longer you wait the harder it will be!!!! You will only dislike it more and more and feel worse about changing it!

Re: HELP!-Changing your E-Ring Setting...Is this horrible??

I do LIKE my setting, i just like the new ring more, lol. I plan to keep the ring, just switch the stones. I'm waitign for the guy to call me to see if he can actually do it-the stone in the middle of the ring was set for a round diamond..Let's see what he says!

Re: HELP!-Changing your E-Ring Setting...Is this horrible??

No i do not think that it is a bad idea at all. i am also in the process of changing my setting (my reason for changing is slightly different). my fi said that we could keep the old setting and put a cz stone in it and that could be my everyday ring.

good luck :)
let us know how it goes.

Re: HELP!-Changing your E-Ring Setting...Is this horrible??

If you love the new one, change it

This is something you'll have for the rest of your life - you should be 100% in love with it.

AND you seem to have great taste!

I love that idea. Or you could even put a lesser quality clear stone in it and use it for when you travel so you don't have to worry about a diamond.

I don't see anything wrong in changing it as long as your FH is ok with it :)

How does your FI feel about it? I don't think it's a terrible thing as long as he doesn't mind.

He doesn't mind at all. In fact, he said he wishes he would have seen that ring earlier, he says he likes it more.
I just feel bad of the fact that he picked it out for me :/
