Crazy questions for Brides w/ Satin Gowns

This might seem like a crazy question but i need to ask. For all of you who have silk satin gowns in white how are you matching up your FH's tux shirt/tie/vest color? What i mean is i want my FH to wear a black tux with white vest, shirt and tie but, my gown, even though it is 'White' it is not 'bright white' b/c it is satin and the white of satin tends to be off. how will it look then against the white on my FH Shirt/tie and vest??? I am worried that my dress will not look white! i am being too paranoid! what is everyone else doing.? I cannot be the only one w/ this issue!

Re: Crazy questions for Brides w/ Satin Gowns

I think it will be fine because your dress and his vest/shirt won't be right next to each other -- they'll be separated by the black tuxedo jacket, you know? That's what I'm hoping anyway since FH is wearing a white vest too!

Re: Crazy questions for Brides w/ Satin Gowns

I have a silk satin gown....and I don't think its that big of a deal. I think it will look fine together with your hubbys tux. Yes, its not pure white, but I still think it will look fine. And as for it not looking white...I wouldn't worry. I think next to a white gown you can tell, but the bride is gonna be the only one in white!

Have I calmed you down a bit???

i was freaking out over here. i am o worried that his 'white' will look like 'stark white' next to mine, even though my gown is considered 'white'.....
All these little things we have to think about....

I am wearing diamond white chiffon- which is really off white and my FH is wearing a white shirt, tie and vest so don't worry.

Re: Crazy questions for Brides w/ Satin Gowns

I am personally against matching everything...I think it completely takes away from your own individiality. That said, my dress was silk satin (Italian. so it was really 'off') and my DH wore a white shirt with a striped tie in white, black, silver and gray. Pics in my review on the review board.

Re: Crazy questions for Brides w/ Satin Gowns

I know a person who ordered extra fabric from her dress manufacturer (which is the same as mine) to make the tie and vest for her husband's ensemble - something to consider if you have the money, time and skill to sew.
