Flowers for the cake

Can I use silk flowers? I have so many beautiful silk flowers left over and I'm trying to figure out what to do with them. Is it sanitary to use them on our cake? What do you girls think?

I don't know because I used real flowers, but I'm sure your reception hall would know (or whoever is providing your cake!!)

you can use silk, (i am) allready talked to my cake lady-cant be any less sanitary then putting lives ones that grew in dirt on the cake !!! LOL

I use silk mini daisys on my cake. some places don't let you use real because most flowers aren't edible and could be a risk if some got on a piece of cake and then someone ate it.
