Anyone still looking for a hall for July 8, 2006?

I also just posted this on the 06 Brides board...

I am supposed to be having my reception at the Jericho Terrace on July 8, 2006 in the evening (Saturday). Unfortunately, I am probably going to have to cancel for various reasons.

I called to find out the cancellation policy, and was told that the room needs to be re-booked or we have to pay the full amount we would've owed them.

I'm just trying to see if there are still brides interested in that date, or if there are any brides looking to get married in the Dome Room at JT (The room we booked).

I guess I just wanted to see what my chances are of not having to pay this money...

Thanks!

Re: Anyone still looking for a hall for July 8, 2006?

I did post it on the 06 board as well...

We're not cancelling the wedding, just changing venue. Our guest list has gotten way too big for the room, and we need to find a site that can hold us...

I guess we didn't think through our guest list completely when we were looking for reception sites...

Just bumping for you - so sorry about that!

I know we looked at a lot of places and it wasn't until we figured out how many people we would have did we narrow it down. If we had booked at the first couple we 'loved' - we would be in the same situation.

Best of luck! I don't know how many people you are having, but I almost booked at JT and went with the Floral Terrace instead, and they were able to accomodate!

I would double check that. I think at the most you would lose your deposit.
Thanks!

Re: Anyone still looking for a hall for July 8, 2006?

FYI, I cancelled my original hall 1 week before the six month mark. Originally my hall told me when I signed the contract that by NY state law you are allowed up to 6 months before the date to cancel and get your FULL refund. We did just that and received our check last week. I would check on that and look into your contract and the law.
