Pay Pal Problem

I went to buy some pet feeders only to find out that I forgot my Paylpal password. SO I was asked the security questions to reset the password. It said that I was wrong and it did't match and I would have to fax a photo ID, bank statement or credit card statement to them to verify. Then it says that it will take 7-10 days for them to contact me! I will not do that...that's just insane. So I wrote them an email saying that I don't know what their info says, but I'm providing the correct info and they should contact me in 24 hours to clear this up.

Meanwhile, I have this seller who is waiting for payment. I wrote her an email explaining what's going on but I'm just frustrated by this. Any advice?

paypal can be a pain! i would ask the seller if they are willing to take an MO, and just wait for paypal to sort the mess out.

that's a good idea, but will a MO protect me if they don't ship it?

yup! keep a copy of it, you shouldn't have a problem.

If you send them a money order it has a number on it. If they say they never got it...you can track it. Keep a copy and if something ever happens you can contact ebay.

if you have a friend with paypal...ask if they can send it to a different address... (i forget if your the seller or if your buying)

techincally yes...but then you wont be verifed and might even take a day or two to authorize (i forget cause its been some time now)

i have verifed bank and address on my paypal. some ppl look for that and/or only ship to verifed addresses

I tried that and it wouldn't let me do it unless I closed the old one and then opened a new one. I figured if I can't get to the old one anyway, why the heck not? But, I think what Tom said is correct - they might not let you use it right away, or you have to activate it from the email account you use.

I think I'm going to try to get another Pay Pal account if they don't answer me by tomorrow. What's the use, they locked me out. I'll just let the seller know what I'm doing.

if you explain to paypal that you cant reset your password they will verify the account with you on the phone by asking you questions - they will call you at the number you have listed on your application -
i have done this a couple of times - when i change to a new password i always forget it the first couple of times i log in LOL
