Thank you cards
We just got married on Saturday and I'm thinking about thank you cards already...We didn't have a professional photographer, just a friend of the family, so I'm debating the best way to handle sending out thank you cards. I know that when you have a professional photographer that they usually give you the cards with the walet photos to go inside. But we are going to have to do it some other way.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?

Re: Thank you cards
You could load a pic that you like into snapfish, or one of the other internet photo sites and order wallet size pics (not much $$). Honestly though, I don't think it's a big deal if you leave them out altogether. It's a nice gesture, and I know that close friends and family appreciate it, but w/ other guests...well, it's not exactly going to be a mantle photo if you know what I mean. JMO.

Re: Thank you cards
Could you take one of the photos that your friend took and bring it to a photo place where they can make multiple copies in the size you want. You can even crop the photo, if there is one particular shot you like, but you don't want to use the entire photo. If you want any suggestions for photo lab, I always go into Manhattan for my photos and give you recommendations. FM if you need the info. Good luck and congratulations!!!

Re: Thank you cards
Thanks for your ideas. I was actually planning on having multiple copies of our favorite photo made up to include in our thankyous. I'm just so used to getting those special thank yous that have the spot for the photo. Does anyone know either where I can get them so I can make it myself, or if it would be tacky to just have a regular thank you card .... or even to print out one of those photo cards like some people send for birth announcements or christmas cards? I'm thinking that might be tacky but I want people's opinions.

Re: Thank you cards
don't worry about the thank you cards w/ the photo slots- they're never very nice. I ordered really nice thank yous from C'est Papier, and I'm going to take the photo out of the ugly thank-yous and put it in my cards for the few people that I'm sending them to.

Re: Thank you cards
Can you recommend a website where I can order large quantities of thank you cards for not too much money?I'll probably go that route. I'll probably need around 60 thank you cards.

Re: Thank you cards
We're doing something different. We told our photographer that we didn't want thank you cards, and got something else in our package instead. We're going to get matching thank you cards with our invitations, and send out a cd to everyone of our 5 favorite pictures from our honeymoon, since we'll take digital pics. Probably for parents in inlaws we'll send a cd with more than 5 pics.

Re: Thank you cards
I'm sort of a creative type of person....if I were you, I'd take a great photo of yourselves and bring it to either a printer or even Staples is fairly inexpensive and have them print it on cardstock paper...its a little bit heavier than reg. paper (like a real greeting card)Good Luck!
