where do the $$$$$$$$ go .... literally

I wanted to do the photobox for the guests to put the envelopes in at the reception - but people have been telling me that that is bad idea and someone will steal stuff.

What are you ladies doing.

I think that they are silly. If someone can come into my reception and carry that heavy as rocks box across the room without anyone seeing them, more power to them.

Seriously, people told me the same thing, but we did it anyway. We have a double lock and it will be placed in the farthest corner of the room, next to us. I say you should do it!

birdcage - but not everyone understood what it was for and they still gave me the envelope. it looked pretty!

I don't want to do a box or anything. I've never seen it at a wedding before (I'm from Boston) and most of my guests won't know what it is for. Are there any other alternatives? I also don't want a purse. I just want a way to keep cards safe and organized during the reception.

eta: oops, didn't realize I was on 05 board. hope you girls don't mind

One of my moms friends assigned envelope holding and tip giving to the dad. She said it will make them feel important the day of... plus it will keep them out of trouble.

I have one of those big satin envelopes. I plan on keeping it under my table at my feet and moving it up to the bridal suite right after dinner.

my grandpa built it from wood scraps and me and my mom painted and decorated it.....

Im not quite sure if anyone will know to put envelopes in it...but when my grandfather came up with the idea OF COURSE i LOVED IT..besides he will most likely stand by it all night explaining every detail to every person that walks by it CHURCH CARDHOLDER

Oops, forgot to answer the question. We started building our photo cube/card box, and it is HEAVY! We haven't put it on the base yet, and the weight is pretty substantial. I don't see anyone sneaking it out of the reception, especially unnoticed.

I am renting a card box from the lady who did my invitations. It's got a strong lock on it and we'll just place it right beside our table, so (hopefully) nobody can tamper with it.

My friend gave all her envelopes to her dad at her wedding. I think I am going to do the same.

my photocube was a hit as people were amazed at the pictuers on it. people didnt know what it was at first but the caught on and every envople for the night was in there
