What to bring to Pre Cana?

My Pre Cana is scheduled for July 16th and I am almost positive that the Priest told FH and I on the day we booked the Church that we needed to bring a certified copy of our Baptism certificate, no older than 6 months to the date. It needs to be a current copy so that the back is checked off confirming that you made your Communion and Confirmation. FH's copy does not have either checked off and the Church where he made both sacraments does not have any record of it.

Am I right in that we need this documentation for Pre Cana or do I still have time to get this resolved since we're getting married at the end of October?

Please Help!!

Re: What to bring to Pre Cana?

I guess it depends on your church.. but I just brought the info. to the church (FH's church) a couple of weeks ago.. my parish wrote all of the info. on the back and front of it.. you shouldn't need it to take precana, but need it to get married.. I think

Re: What to bring to Pre Cana?

My church was very specific- no certioficates-no wedding....plus he also said precana should be done a year in advance!!! I would say call and ask!

Re: What to bring to Pre Cana?

We didn't need to bring anything to pre-cana. Our priest told us that we had to have all the documentation into the church before the wedding, but not for pre-cana. I would call and ask in advance what your church requires and when.

Re: What to bring to Pre Cana?

We had to give them a copy of the baptismal certificate when we booked the church. Nothing was needed for precana. I guess each church is different and I would call to make sure.

Re: What to bring to Pre Cana?

You probably need to bring that baptismal certificate with all the dates to the chuch before they can do the ceremony but probably not to pre cana. we just finished our Pre Cana and didn't have to bring a thing!
