Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

My day was overcast and cold. I wanted to have our ceremony outside, but it just didn't happen. Everyone was cold and rain was predicted. Even though it didn't rain, people were happy that it was not outside because of the temps.

Honestly, it bothered me all the way leading up to the day, and then....when I woke up that morning, I didn't care at all. I was happy to be getting married that weather was the last thing on my mind.

We were still able to get pics outside because it didn't rain. The only real regret I have is not preparing for an indoor ceremony. I really convinced myself it would be outside no matter what, and so I didn't prepare at all for an indoor ceremony. I would have decorated it a bit more.

Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

It was overcast all morning, so it was nice and cloudy for our outdoor pictures. It got sunny for a bit during the reception, which was nice and then it started raining just as everybody started leaving, which wasn't a huge problem. It was just annoying.

Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

It rained in the morning but cleared up just in time to take pictures outside. It was pretty wet outside to take pictures but they still came out pretty nice. I haven't gotten my professionals back yet but these are some pictures taken by my papparazzi who decided to follow my paid photographer!!!

ETA: I wanted to have the cermony in the garden but because of the rain we were inside... But it came out beautifully! It ended up not bothering me one bit!

You can't really tell it rained, it just looked CLOUDY!

Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

In the day: Extreme heat and humidity (90 and 90) - my curls fell out within an hour outside!

By 6pm, it was overcast, the rain hung in the air, but stayed back. A bit of thunder rumbled, but i got my outdoor ceremony in!

I wouldn't have cared either way. I was walking on clouds that day, and you will be two. Just prepare yourself for the possibility of both things happening.

Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

it rained - so we took photos outside in the rain - we got some really cool ones with rain frozen in mid air
we had to move the ceremony inside - they set it up in the dining room which i thought was too dark - but aside from that not too much - everything was fine you adapt to the problems on the fly

Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

Well Oakslady and I got married on the same day, so we had the same weather!!

It was overcast - we missed the rain. The photographers were actually happy that it was gray out - they said it lends itself to better lighting and less squinting!!

It didn't really affect me. Like someone else said - I stressed about it for the months leading up, but then the day of you just deal - there's nothing you can do about it.

I had bought customized golf umbrellas for the whole wedding party (they had our name and the date on the handle) just in case, but we didn't really even need them.

Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

It rained on & off all day on our wedding day so we couldn't have our ceremony or CH outside which was disappointing but we got most of our pictures outside & they came out great.

Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

It rained on our wedding day & we still took a ton of pictures outside @ the planting fields aboretum (mostly under the overhang of a huge old building). But we have lots of great pics including cute ones with umbrellas & rain hats etc. Just break out the umbrellas & sneaks and have fun with it!

Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

The temperature was great, but it was windy. In some of the pictures you see everyone's hair blowing all over the place, and my train and veil too (or you can see my veil bunched up behind me where someone was holding it).
But the wind made some of the pictures look pretty cool, like this one:

Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

I was so annoyed when I heard the thunder and the rain when I woke up (way earlier then was necessary.). So I got up and I wasn't really too upset, just a little bummed that we wouldn't be able to take the pics at the beach like I wanted to and our ceremony and CH had to be inside - but it really wasnt that bad. It actually stopped raining before the ceremony (I think). We had taken pics beforehand but during the CH, our photographers got some outside shots. It was really a wonderful day, but, I'll admit it, sometimes I do get a little bummed when I see pics at the beach with a beautiful, sunny day. But really, no matter what, it was the most beautiful day of my life.

This is what it looked like during the CH - mostly just a little damp and humid.

Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

It snowed on my wedding day (it was clear in the morning and started snowing sometime during the ceremony). I didn't really affect us too much, since we hadn't planned on any outdoor pictures anyway.

Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

My day was beautiful, but my friends was bad. It was in May, but it was so cold and windy with quite a few periods of rain. We took the pictures inside, and they came out beautifully. She was disappointed, but didn't let it ruin her day in the slightest way.

Re: Did anyone not have nice weather on their wedding day??

On my wedding day it rained very hard the night before and most of the day. For some reason though it seemed to know when I had to be outside because when I was going into the limo the rain stopped. Then it waited until I was in the church to start raining again. It stopped again when I went outside after the ceremony and waited until we were in our hall. The only bad thing was that the Pope died during our ceremony.
