When to send out Save the date magnets?

Hi ladies,
Congratulations on the upcoming weddings. When is the appropriate time to send out Save the Date magnets? I have heard all different times. Please Help..

anytime really... but especially early if you're getting married on a holiday weekend.

It really depends on when you want to do it. If you are having alot of OOT guests then send them out 1 year ahead of time but if not I would say 6,8-10 months ahead of time.

since your getting married on 4th of july weekend, i'd do it asap. since its a holiday weekend, people make plans early.

we are getting married 11.11.06 and will probably be sending out STD magnets last this summer or early this fall.

I sent mine out 6 months before the wedding
If we had alot of OOT guests I would have sent it out a year in advance.

We did already...just sent them out....wanted to do them a year in advance...have a lot of OOT guests

We are sending ours out in Sept/Oct which is about a year of so away from the wedding- We really don't have a lot of OOT guest but we do have a very busy family who vacations alot so we want them to be notified well in advance!
