REPOST: To wear a bra or not...that is the question

So I have my first fitting this Friday with my strapless dress and I'm really VERY tempted to go braless on my wedding day (just one more thing to worry about falling down). I am not overly endowed, nor itty bitty, but am now wondering this...

Girls who have had strapless dresses, are you wearing a bra?

If not, what did you do during your fittings? go braless too??

Can you have cups sewn into the dress?

TIA!

Re: REPOST: To wear a bra or not...that is the question

I could get away w/out wearing one as well.......but Im afraid....

I can have cups sewn in, but I'm not comfy doing that either. I guess I will see what my seamstress says or recommends. I would like to wear a strapless just to put my mind at ease........and the corset will be tied pretty tight....but there still is that chance

Re: REPOST: To wear a bra or not...that is the question

My SIL went braless. She was told that they would sew in cups for her (I know that some places can sew straps in the dress that you put your bra through. This way it doesn't move around), she decided against it. All of her fittings were braless too. Don't worry, I was there, and no one let the dress fall.

Re: REPOST: To wear a bra or not...that is the question

I went braless and it was great and strapless!! I had good support inside of the dress so it held me up!

I had a strapless gown (see below) and actually I had both I wore a long-line bra (sewn in and had cups sewn in (the cups where for to keep the shape of the dress).

When you go to your fitting bring everything that you will wear on your wedding day - to ensure a perfect measurement.

Re: REPOST: To wear a bra or not...that is the question

no bra with my corset back - it was liberating!

It's all about what you are comfortable with - in the hot weather I would not want another layer pressed up against me.

I did cups and a strapless bra to give me a little more curve.

If I can't have cups sewn in, I'm wearing a bra.

Re: REPOST: To wear a bra or not...that is the question

I highly recommend getting cups sewn in too. I had no problems on my wedding day wearing my strapless gown.

When I first tried on my dress, before the fitting, I wore a strapless bra to get an idea of how things would look. My seamstress had cups on hand at my first fitting so we could try them out.

Re: REPOST: To wear a bra or not...that is the question

I went braless--gown was spaghetti strapped but the bodice was thick and encrusted with jewels and I'm really not that big, so it was fine. I never planned on wearing one. no cups, either. it fit really nicely!

Re: REPOST: To wear a bra or not...that is the question

The Bridal store that I am going to didn't recommend cups or braless with a strapless dress. They said to were a corset. It is not so much to hold your breasts in place but more so that it holds the dress up (i guess from the friction) so it doesn't slide down. I am sure it all depends on the type of the dress and how well it fits.

I know what you mean but in my case I need all the help I can use, although my dress has cups sewn in but I still need a push.

I am wearing a strapless dress and going without a bra. I'm about a 34 B and am having cups put in to give a nice shape.

Re: REPOST: To wear a bra or not...that is the question

My gown had weirdly positioned cap sleeves so I needed to wear a strapless. I didn't want to go braless because I felt strange without one. I found a great straples bra and the dress looked great.

Re: REPOST: To wear a bra or not...that is the question

I wore a longline bra...bought it from David's Bridal and since it was the only one I got it for $35. It rocked!
