Home Improvement VENT (Long)!!!

Ahhh... I'm so done with this house! Every time we turn around there’s something else we have to fix or replace.

We've torn down ALL the sheetrock and insulation in every room but 3 bedrooms including the basement. Which we expected but not all of it. Taken out 1 entire wall and 1/2'ed 2 of them. We were hoping to wait but it wasn’t feasible. Gutted the bathroom completely and removed all the insulation from the attic.
Between the Mice we found which the exterminator says is/was nothing and there gone but still ewwwwwwww, to today’s latest that the concrete in the back & front stoop needs to be ripped up because apparently it's sunken in too much and now when it rains is puddles around the foundation and seeps into the basement which explains the nasty carpet and insulation we found!

We expected some of this but not all of his. I just don’t see an end!! I hope I'll feel better once we have new sheetrock up.

I have tons of pics I'll have to post when I get them developed. (I know I'm ancient without a digital camera!)

look at the positive it will be beautiful and exactly what you want when your finished. i did extensive workto my house house also and im finally starting to see what all the work was about and it was well worth all the aggravation

I can completely sypathize with you. After 4 months of doing all the work ourselves we are only 2 weeks away from being finished for now. We gutted the entire first floor exept a bedroom and one bath. We hadn't expected to do all that now. But one thing leads to another to another and so on. Now that we are almost done I can say it is worth it. Don't loose hope it'll be worth it in the end. Maybe you could make a list of what needs to be done an then do things in order of necessity.

I'm just soooo stressed with this and the wedding in 2 months.

FH is talking about gutting the kitchen now so I'll have a sink and a stove till it's done which wont be till after the wedding.

Did I mention that I have my entire family coming in from Florida that month and staying with me??

Ugh! I hope everything works out alright for you and your FH. Your story reminds me of one of the Bridezilla episodes...not that you're a Bridezilla, but there was one who was doing SO MUCH to their new house and had all her family staying there too... I was exhausted watching her! Good luck!
