bridesmaid dress help needed!

I am having so much trouble picking out bridesmaids dresses! I have six bridesmaids, ranging from 5'2 to 5'8 and all varying sizes from tiny to big. They all have completely different taste and keep trying to persuade me to pick dresses and colors that I don't like. I want to pick out something that they like because they will be wearing, but I don't want to pick out something that I don't like. Does anyone have a similar problem? Alos, if anyone has any picks of cute tea length or knee length dresses, could you post them? thanks!

Re: bridesmaid dress help needed!

Would you consider letting pick their own styles as long as you get to pick the color, fabric and designer?

I didn't want this situation happen to me, so I told my girls I will pick the designer, the fabric is satin and the color is celadon and they pick out what style they want, and they all loved the idea.

Sorry this is happening - how frustrating!

Re: bridesmaid dress help needed!

I have different size girls...

So my MOH is in one dress, the 4 girls are in another and my junior BM is in another.

Go for something that is A line-with straps....it worked for me!

I am having the EXACT same problem!

We went to look at dresses today and came up with this tea-length dress. It looks slightly different in person though!

I agree!! Or, let them pick separates - you decide on the skirt, color, designer and have them pick the top.

The final decisoin is yours, and you will never please them all (as hard as you may try!). Go w/ your MOH, you two pick a dress, and then tell the rest of them to go get it. My wording sounds harsh, but the past few weddings I have been in, this is what was done. And, it's what I'm doing! Good Luck!

Re: bridesmaid dress help needed!

I am a big fan of the seperates idea...many manufacturers do them...you can pick the color and skirt...they will get sleevless/sleeves which ever they feel comfortable with....

My advice to you and all other brides.....
I have seen many BM put into dresses that were not appropriate for their size. Not only did it look bad on them they looked uncomfortable! I am on the fuller side and we did seperates for my sisters wedding..I loved the fact that I could wear short/cap sleeves when some of the other girls were wearing sleevless. It looked great on me and I felt great!!

Good luck!
