Spin-off: What quirky or silly little things annoy you?

Okay, someone mentioned that a little thing annoyed them and we all have them!

Mine is someone leaving the cap of the toothpaste off, or letting it get all gross and not cleaning it, or having a glob of toothpaste in the sink. In short anything remotely unkempt about toothpaste drives me insane! I already informed my FH about this annoyance just to ward it off before we get married and live together...

indecisiveness ANNOYS me to no end...so does whining. I have very little tolerance for it.

Okay, call me crazy, but eyebrow lint drives me insane. Whenever I see it on ANYONE (let alone FH), I have the desire to brush it off.

I wouldn't call it quirky, but passive agressiveness really irritates me.

I hate when people leave lipstick on a mug (or even on the rim of a paper cup). When I'm sipping coffee, I find myself wiping it off.

I have to eat with a little (cake) fork, not a dinner fork

I hate hearing the fork grind against someone's teeth.

When "ladies" spit off the subway platform (guys too, but really URR when women do it)

When people say G-- D---

Oh I have to add I HATE when people throw onion dip in the sink (the sour cream kind), just the thought of that smell & consistency, makes me gag.

well, I have mild OCD, so I hit the bottom of the Snapple bottle 10 times, no more, no less

I have to keep the radio volume on an even number, unless it's 15, and that's only because it's half of the max 30, and divisible by 2...

oh yes- the tea kettle gets rinsed out 3 times, again, no more no less

ok- I am really not a freak

don't worry Cin, I also prefer small utensils when I eat.

people who chew loud or with their mouths open

unpeeled sunburn (FH hates to peel his and it just ANNOYS me when it is so peely and gross)

dishes in the sink (they gross me out!)

I am anal with my closet and I get annoyed when my sister borrows stuff and puts it back in the wrong place (anal, yes, but still )

Ohhh.. I love this thread!!!

I was just having a conversation about this with someone at work yesterday.

I have no tolerance for mediocracy.. whatsoever.

Bitter people.
People who are braindead... actually, I feel bad for them.. I hate people who are just plain dumb.. like when they play dumb. I hate that.. it urks me.

I hate people who are consistantly late ALL THE TIME.

People who dont think before they speak.. who have absolutely no concern for anyone or anything besides themselves.

People who lack common sense.. like this woman I work for. Masters degree & all, yet dont know how to save a document on MS Word.. or even use a fax machine.

Ever watch Saturday Night Live? Do you know who Debbie Downer is??? Yes. I cant stand people like that.

so much more, but I dont want to sound like a nag. LOL

When I used to commute into nyc on the train, there was always someone standing near me cracking their gum. I would sit there and have to calm myself down from going mad!!!!

Oh and people who do not cover their mouth when they cough/scream...

And...at work someone always brings in fruit/cookies etc.. I hate when people take something, break a piece off and put the rest back! Like why do you need to touch it and put it back!!!!!!

I know I am crazy! MY POOR FH!!

people who are always late - this is my number one pet peeve

people who get into a crowded elevator and face everybody instead of facing the door (I have a lot of things that annoy me in the elevator etiquette department)


slow walkers and slow drivers

people who look up at the ceiling or past me when they are talking to me (this is SO weird)!

bad drivers!

riding the train or subway during rush hour, or in the summer - it just gets so gross down there!

people who are inconsiderate - the world does not revolve around you!

a dirty kitchen.

when my roommates misuse and abuse my kitchen tools and gadgets - a steamer basket is not a collander! it pains me to find with caked on spaghetti noodles... ah well.

i could go on like this forever, i think it's time i cut myself off.

When people get on an escalator and just STAND there, without even moving to one side so people can pass. Especially when it's a really short escalator. Just walk, people! Isn't the point of an escalator to help you get up QUICKER?

What annoys me:

People who say "axe" instead of "ask"

People who say "a whole nother" instead of "another" or "a whole other"

Sadly, "nother" has been added to the dictionary as a word because of misuse over the years.

when my house is not clean i cant sleep

fake purses - i used to have one and even owning it bothered me.

when people say aks instead of ask

people that tell you too much- like you ask how their weekend was and they actually tell you how they "visited their 90 year old mother and she cant go to the bathroom the right way" just say "fine!"

slow drivers on a one lane street. sometimes ill risk my car and life to pass around them - i get NUTS

eta - people that borrow my stuff. i dont lend things out when people ask. unless i am offering something to you, dont ask to borrow it. and NEVER borrow it without me knowing. i am a FREAKY FREAK like that

Oh gosh...I have so many.

Ones that have been mentioned:
-Mediocracy
-"axe" instead of "ask"
-hair in the sink/on clothes/ etc.
-gum cracking

Also:
-people who talk out loud while they are working. This drives me insane.
-those who ask how to do something when the answer is just a mouse click away. Ex - how do you change the set-up of a document? If you don't know Microsoft has developed a very knowledgable "help" - use it.
-people who don't use turning lanes to make a turn. I just don't get this.

I hate people who don't use their blinkers when they drive. who don't know what a blinker is for. those who wait for an open spot to get over into the next lane instead of signaling and letting the other vehicles actually understand what they want to do.

drives me mad. then they stop and block trraffic so they can get over when they could have put their blinker on and some kind soul can let them in.

which brings up something else I hate. people not letting others in to their lane because they are going to get further if they don't let others in. even if they are stopped at a red light.

I can think of more. I should have just said "people who shouldn't have their license"

they just give anyone a license to drive

IDIOT DRIVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot take how people drive I am an aggressive, but safe, driver and I HATE bad drivers...you know the people who you know must have failed their drivers exam about 75 times and the people at the DMV felt bad for them and gave it to them anyway Just because they have their blinker on and they want to get over, doesn't mean they can!! I tell FH that everyone should have to go through me to learn how to drive...'Jane's Driving School' sounds good to me

Oh yeah...people who chew with their mouths open..I don't like that either

Oh God sooo many things....here are a few

A big one is when people don't cover their mouths when they cough ...that just spreads sooo many germs ..maybe thats not quirky

People who crack their knuckles..that grosses me out


Women who wear sandles without having a pedicure
