Did you have the post office hand cancel your STDs?

I'm going to the post office to get stamps and send out my STDs. Just wondering if anyone hand cancelled the stamps on them.

Also, I'm sending a 'Will you be my ringbearer' card that has a black envelope. Can that go through the mail? I wrote the address in silver, but I don' t know if the cancelling of the stamp will show up on the envelope.

We did not hand cancel our STDs. Not sure about the black envelope.

We didn't hand cancel for our std's, although I wish we would have. We used personalized stamps from stamps.com (with our pictures on them), and some of the stamps were pretty much ruined by the post office's own stamps :(

I will probably get them hand canceled for my invites.

I asked the lady to but one of my invites came back as wrong address and hand stamping helps reduce the damage and marks and I received it all filthy.

i didnt and I wont hand cancel the invites either... in my opinion I really dont think people expect to have pristine envelopes arrive in the mail, so to me it isnt worth the time or frustration... if i got personalized stamps however, that might be a reason to hand cancel them...

i totally agree with this!! we stress oiurselves out WAAAY too much with minor stuff... this is definitely the last thing we should worry about! the post office handles so much mail- even with hand canceling, theres still a big chance something could get messed up on the route.... guests understand that... definitely NOT worth worrying about.

not the std's b/c we included them in the x-mas cards. but yes for the invites and they made it to people in excellent condition. i was concerned they'd be ripped to shreds b/c the cardstock was heavy.
