What is the average cost for Hair and makeup?

I am just curious. I actually have no clue. And can you specify whether or not they came to you or did you go to them (the salon).

A LOT! I think it's absolutely ridiculous...but here's a general breakdown

Makeup - trials are usually to their location, day of they come to you: trials $20 - $75; day of $90 - $200

Hair - same situation as the above, trials $40 - $75, day of $75 - $200

I'm getting my MU done by a cosmetic counter (MAC) - cost $40
I'm getting my hair done at the salon around the corner from my house - cost $35

So, you'll have the do the research to find what's in your budget and to your liking. I do not like the typical bridal makeup and wanted something more dramatic - so I went to MAC.

I can't possibly tolerate paying over $50 for my hair to get done b/c it's not expensive at all in my neighborhood and my hair has japanese straightening....

For both trials I went to them. I paid $50 for a hair trial (which is about ave) and $30 for a makeup trial (which I thought was pretty good, most charge about $50)

the day of both came to me and I paid $125 for each.

I'm getting my Makeup done by MAC... You got to the counter... It's good because someone will always be there... don't have to worry about cancellations... you have to buy 50 dollars worth of products and then they do the makeup for free... I think it's really cool because then you can buy your lipstick, and whatever else and keep that in your bag for touchups..... For hair I'm paying 75.

but I never looked so good after both the hair & MU trials. IMO, worth it!

I am guessing it is cheaper if you go somewhere instead of having someone come to your home??

definitely. but for me, I do not want to go running all over the place on my wedding day. I figured if I can't get pampered on my wedding day, when can I?

2 out of the 3 in my BP are also getting their hair & MU done at my place. I will need them there to keep me calm LOL

the other 1 lives 30 miles away and it going to her own salon (with my mom)

Oh. I guess I would have to check with my BP...is it my responsibilty to organize everyones hair appoints? What if they dont want to go for the expense of getting there hair done by someone who comes to the house? Am I suppose to pay for that?

Its going to be about 250 for me and about 150 for the BM. They are coming to my house becaue I do not know of any salons that will open at 6:30 am on a sunday.

It was awful handing over $160 (incl. deposit to book and tip) the day of the trial. I went home and sat around in it for a couple of hours and then took it all out.

I am not sure yet how much I want to spend, but it sounds like it is going to be more than I expected....but then again that is how I've felt about everything in this wedding so far....so I guess I jsut need to get used to it.

Mine was 150 for hair and 150 for makeup.
