OKAY...NOT GOOD: FI IS TOTALLY FREAKING OUT!

He doesn't think the BM's shoudl wear an off white dress...he's totally freaking out! I'm not happy with the decision either, but I'm so tired of dealing with the BM's....that I just gave in today!

if you are okay with your bms wearing an offwhite dress then it is fine...but are you alright with that...have you told your fh that it is then considered a snowball wedding...nice name

Its your wedding, don't let them pressure you into letting them wear white.... Thats your color! Oh no sometimes you have to be bridezilla! Tell them you'll wear your wedding dress to their weddings then.... Its not fair to you or FH.

If it is what you want then thats great. But don't let other people influence you on the most important day of your life... I feel bad!

when we first started planning I told my BP they can wear what ever they want as long as it's the same color (which would be black I'm sure). my FH put his foot down that he did not want them wearing black. His mom is old school Italian, maybe that's why. It was really the only thing he insisted on, so I gave in and made the color burgundy.

I agree! I can sometimes be a pushover, but then my FH reminded me that when MY bridesmaids get married then they'll want everything perfect. This is YOUR DAY! Tell them to wear the color you want and shut up!

i know how you feel my BM's drove me insane to the point i gave in and let them pick the dress and lets just say it is not my 1, 2nd or 3rd choice , now i wish i would have put my foot down and called on my inner bridezilla to deal!!!! dont let them talk you into something , you will regret it!!!! ---good luck!


by the way when did bm become so bossy and opinionated any wedding i was in i didnt refuse to wear what the bride wanted or feel that I had free reign on the planning, i wore what the bride told me too!!! Im glad to see im not the only one in this situation

My BMs I know are going to give me hell about a color...but if I were you tell them what YOU want them to wear. It is your wedding and they have no right to tell you what your wedding is going to be like...Go for what you feel is right.

Oh God, Christine, you know I just went through this exact same thing!!!

Tell them all to have a Coke and a smile and to shut the hell up. That they will wear the color you want because you already have your scheme in mind. It's your wedding, and damn it, you will have it the way you envisioned it!! DO NOT LET THEM MAKE YOU OR FH UNHAPPY!!!

I had a hard time putting my foot down when all my BM's told me they hated yellow. Now they're coming around and telling me whatever makes me happy they will wear.

If you don't want off white, maybe a nice champagne or silver will work??

It blows my mind that a BM would want to wear white.

its one thing if the bride tells them to... its a another thing if they request it.

to me that sounds like insubordination... Which I told my BM's is completely unacceptable. (jk... sort of!)

My BM are all wearing Ivory (same as me) and Sage (same as me-my dress has sage accents) BUT that is only because that is what I wanted them to wear... I was hesitant at first - but I bought a Martha S wedding magazine months ago - and there was LITERALLY 6 weddings in it where the BMs were in white... Your BMs should look as YOU want them to

P.S. It is your wedding - that is not a bridezilla thing - it truly is your day, not theirs...you can't please everyone all the time, and this is REALLY one of the days you don't have to!! Good Luck!

I agree with the ladies. Sometimes we are too nice. Choose 2 colors YOU WANT and then let the cards fall. If in your heart, you don't want them to wear off white - they shouldn't!!! You are the bride. They had or will have their wedding their way. You should have yours YOUR WAY!!

Why do they want to wear white? There are so many colors out there. Really. I agree with what everyone else said. Its your wedding, and you choose the colors, not your BM.

Ladies! Thank you so much for helping me out, and calming me down. I didn't sleep a wink last night b/c I was so upset about it.

I wrote two of the BM's this morning (including the MOH) and said that I'm just not happy with the color b/c it's just too white, and that I'd like the more golden color (still very light) called Maize...we'll see what happens now!
