Gift from MOH
Hi everyone. I am the MOH for my best friend's wedding in three weeks. This is my first time as a MOH, and actually my first wedding (as an adult). So, I don't know how much money I should give as a gift! What do you guys think? The thing is, the wedding is pretty much a whirlwind, planned in three months, she's very apathetic about the wedding.. three weeks away, still no florist, photographer, DJ. She keeps saying 'she doesn't care' about the wedding, two weeks ago it was off, then back on. I guess that shouldn't really affect my gift, but I just wanted to see what you all thought.

Re: Gift from MOH
Thats a tough situation! My MOH gave us $250.00 but if I was a MOH I would give $500-$800 or so (family vs friends etc) so really its whatever you can give! (not that I can give $500 I just think thats appropriate)Is that what your asking?

Re: Gift from MOH
Yes, that is what I was asking. I just don't know how much people are giving for weddings, MOH or bridal party in particular. Thanks!

Re: Gift from MOH
I am my sister's MOH and I hope to give her at least $500. If you are close to your bf and have a good relationship with her, I would give her as much as you can afford.

Re: Gift from MOH
I was the MOH in my MOH's wedding and I gave $300.00 for the actual gift at the wedding then if you add everything I spent from my dress to her gifts, shower and BP you are looking at over a grand. I wouldn't expect a gift more than to cover the plates from any of my BP just because they would have already spent so much on my wedding as it is, just my opinion.

i agree... being in the bridal party is a huge expense... for family - i think it is different - i gave a lot for my brother's wedding...
with everything you do for your best friend - there isnt a price - my best friend was overly greatful for $300 i gave her.

Re: Gift from MOH
I would be as generous as possible but I'm actually expecting my bridal party to give less since they have to spend so much on the dress, shoes, shower etc.

I agree. The bridal party spends alot of $$ on dresses, the shower, bachorlette party etc..Give as much as you can afford to..
