Ok, this is getting a little personal, but....

I just counted on my calendar, and I'm definitely going to have my period during my wedding. I am on the pill, so I know the day of wedding will be my 4th day... Sometimes I get migraines during this time.... I've heard in the past that if you are on the pill there is something you can do to avoid getting your period on a certain week... Is this true? If so, is it safe? I'm so upset about this!!!!

Re: Ok, this is getting a little personal, but....

Don't get upset! It can be fixed. You can minipulate your pills- girls (especially brides do it all the time)
Talk to your doctor. He/She will be able to help you.

Re: Ok, this is getting a little personal, but....

just skip the little white pills (the reminder pills) and start your next pack right away. You will skip your period if you do this. It is totally safe to do this, but if you are concerned ask your gyno.
I am on Seasonale, and I only get my period every 3 months. I have had no problems.

Re: Ok, this is getting a little personal, but....

Yes it's true. and yes it's safe. I actually did it 2 months so that I am done the week before the wedding.

The only 'problem' i have had is that I spotted both times and got a migraine both times, but I dealt since it means no AF on the wedding or HM.

Re: Ok, this is getting a little personal, but....

If you are gonna skip pills or something like that make sure you use another form of protection as well.. ask your dr though, they get asked about it all the time.

Re: Ok, this is getting a little personal, but....

I was due to start mine on the day of the wedding

I took my Jan pills nornal but did not take the placebos and I began the next pill pack right away...It did end up working i got to the end of the month (TMI...sorry) had light spotting about 2 weeks after my wedding and then had had my regualr period once i started taking the placebos

I hope this helps ...my dr office said they would have done it differently if i would have realized it sooner but with feb beig a short month I got triped up a bit and realized it with only 2 months to go to the wedding

this worked out just fine for me (however i did use protection just in case i had break through bleading) thankfully did not end up needing it

Re: Ok, this is getting a little personal, but....

I skipped my placebo pills too and it was great. A little advice though: Do it now and don't wait until the month of the wedding. I spotted about 2 weeks afterward until I got my period and if I had waited to do it the month of the wedding I would have spotted all through my honeymoon!

I am doing the same thing just skip the pills that are non-effective and go right to the new pack.

Re: Ok, this is getting a little personal, but....

you can start your other pack when the other one is done and you won't get your period on your honeymoon. But just check with your doctor. But mine told me to do that.

I agree to skip the placebos but with my pills the white pills are the ones in the beginning....

Re: Ok, this is getting a little personal, but....

Thanks girls!! I left a message with my gyno-- of course he won't be in until Monday, but I'm sure he'll say it's OK, since it seems to be a pretty common thing. Thanks for the advice!!
