Question about getting married in a Roman Catholic Church
We are planning to get married in the church that I went to growing up which is roman catholic. My FH is eastern orthodox, but is fine with getting married in my church. We were considering the idea of also having a eastern orthodox priest in addition to the catholic priest for the ceremony.
Does anyone know if a roman catholic church will allow another priest to come in for the ceremony?
We have a meeting on Saturday with the church, but I wanted to see if anyone has had experience with this!
Thanks

Re: Question about getting married in a Roman Catholic Church
I'm sorry to say that I don't think the chances are good of having another priest of a different faith in the RC Church. They're pretty strict about that. All churches are different though, so it doesn't hurt to ask! Good Luck

Well you need to have a 'residence' in Huntington but St. Patricks in Huntington allows other priests to perform the ceremony.I think most churches will let you. I know a few people who had family members perform theirs.
Good Luck!

I don't think they will allow it, but you never know what rules they are willing to bend in your church.

Re: Question about getting married in a Roman Catholic Church
Actually, they might. Eastern orthodox church members are one of only a few faiths that are 'allowed' to receive eucharist in the Catholic church, and there is a reason for this (I just don't know what it is exactly, LOL) Since there is some sort of common ground between the 2 churches, there might be a good chance the Eastern Orthodox priest could concelebrate the mass. Ask the priest who will be doing your ceremony or mass.Welcome New Vendors
