DJ's and Photo/Video

Hi,
I know I have probably asked this before but..has anyone used or heard anything about either In the Mix DJ's or Hollywood DJ's..and can anyone recommend any other DJ's that are located in Nassau County. Also has anyone used or heard of Duval Photography or can anyone recommend any Video/Photo people in Nassau that aren't outrageously expensive?

I thought my eye makeup and foundation was heavy after my trial...and even on the day of my wedding. I almost even washed it off before the photographer came!

Know what? I'm super glad I didn't. In the photos, under the lighting, my makeup looked AMAZING in all the pix. And all I touched up that day was my lipstick and pressed powder. I was so impressed I'm thinking of going back for my sister's wedding in May (I am her MoH)

Starlight Express DJ Entertainment in Mineola. They have a DJ there named Tony who is great..not cheezy..The prices were reasonable

We met with Russel from Hollywood DJ's, as well as 1 or two others plus a couple of bands before deciding on Spin Around Sound. Hollywood DJ's seemed a little too over the top for us. Too much of an in your face operation. Spin Around Sound I can tell you from experience was great. They did our wedding last month and were simply perfect.

You will find as you do more wedding planning that packages are the name of the game with vendors. The packages are based on their experience with what people are usually looking for. Just don't be afraid to ask them to customize for you if any of their packages are not exactly to your liking. Enjoy the planning!

Spin Around Sound has several packages but tend to be a little more pricey then some other DJs out there.
There are a lot of different opinions on tattoos but if you don't mind it showing then don't worry about what people think.

Sure. We paid about $1575.00 for the 4 hours. We eliminated the cocktail hour from their package. They have several packages you can choose from and you can add or delete items you don't want from the packages. Tom will work with you on the price. You can certainly find cheaper DJ's on the market. When we were looking the prices ranged from $750 - $2,500. We were very comfortable with Tom and got exactly what we wanted. He was a little more than we really wanted to spend, but he was worth it.

Also - We are using Spin Around Sound next month and it is $1400 for 5 hours so he does have a few types of set ups. We didnt get the giveaways or elaborate lights. Our wedding is in the afternoon at Milleridge Cottage with a lot of windows so the lights aren't necessary. I found his pricing to be in line with others I saw.
I'm going there for a food tasting soon, but is the place that bad? Can anyone give me more info - many responses were vague, or all negative.

Thanks for the info on Spin Around Sound...can u tell me how they are as far as price wise..how much did they cost..and do they offer different packages? Also where in Garden City are they located. Also who did u use for ure video/photgraphy. Any info would be appreciated.

We're using them for our wedding in October. They seem to have the style we were looking for in a DJ. Their prices were the highest of the DJ's we met, but not by much. I hope they are worth it!

We were very close to booking Spin Around Sound even though they're about $300 more than other DJs we saw. We met w/ Tom and liked what we saw and heard. At our meeting, I specifically asked if HE was available for our 4 hour reception (we're having ceremony & cocktail hour musicians). He said he and an assistant would be there.

Then today, we 'agreed' on a price and I again asked him if he would be our DJ...he said yes, he'll be there but he'll need to leave an hour and 15 minutes early to go to another job! (and leave the 'assistant' there to finish). Yikes!

Hi Allison. I can recommend my video guy that I used for my October wedding. His name is Holden and the name of the company is Multi-Media Video in East Meadow. I'm getting married in May '02 in NY and also planning from Fairfax. I work in DC. Please let me know about your experience with M.A.C. I think there's a counter in the Lord & Taylor in Fair Oaks Mall and was planning to check it out.
