2 people in my office just PURCHASED dogs from pet stores...one all the way from Georgia!

I get so frustrated that they just want what THEY want, and don't actually care about all the UNWANTED animals out there, I don't know if that makes sense, I guess I just wish MORE people could be happy with a mixed breed, or as I call them 'The ALL American Breed'

Well, I did let them know how I felt, that I was happy they had a new love in their life, I just wish a lonely one in a metal cage at the shelter, could have been the one receiveing their love!

I know i am probably too opinionated

But visit a town shelter and you would be too!

I got 2 of my pure bred rescues from local shelters. I would recommend this to anyone, rescue dogs are so grateful and really make fantastic pets. They are just so happy to be loved.

Absolutely, if you are patient enough and diligent about finding the type of dog that you want, MANY shelters have purebreeds. Even puppies....I am so glad you looked at the rescue option!

I agree.
If anyone wants to adopt a puppy, kitten, dog or cat, please go to your local shelter or check out the NYCACC. Rescues are great too.

Pet adopthons go on every weekend in the city. Check out the mayors alliance for animals. Do a search on google to find the website.
